The clubs’ annual outing to the River Tay went ahead this
year on the 20th February. Only four hardy souls braved the elements, Eddie Wong,
John Wilson, Willie Kennedy and myself.
After a late start (Eddie being lost) we hit the water. Eddie
and John starting off in the boat, Willie and myself on the far bank. The
morning past with Eddie getting a hit on his lure but alas was not able to
connect. After a spot of lunch to recharge the batteries whilst getting the
feet warmed up it was soon our turn for the boat.
After about an hour my rod slammed over and I played and
landed a well mended Salmon Kelt in the 8 -10lb range. It was the only fish of
the day but everyone enjoyed the experience and are looking forward to the trip
again next year.
