Steven and Richards Crinan Trip as told by Richard
Me and Steven Toner took the mother ship Toner up to Crinan. We left Monkton at 5.30am and finally got there for 8.15am and fishing for 9.00am. We started at one of Stevens favourite deep hole marks. Steven got the first skate which was a recapture and a Male at 115lbs. Fishing was a bit slow for the first couple of hours so we dug out the small rods for some doggie action and I managed to catch a few as well as some strap congers. I was also lucky enough to get a good sized black mouthed dogfish at 2lbs 2oz which was nearly a club record. Just after 2 o'clock my skate rod took a massive run and I hooked into a 200lb skate, another recapture a big female this time. We fished till 4pm when Stevens rod had another run but it came to nothing so all in all a good days fishing, sore back and some good banter and a big dose of deep heat being required.
